In a meeting with President Obama and Muslim community leaders, I expressed Green Muslims’ interest in social and environmental justice as inspired by Islamic tradition. Islam has a legacy of conservation and care for all of creation as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH); especially for those who are disadvantaged and most negatively impacted by climate change. I shared with the President our desire to work with him, and partner organizations, in order to collectively cultivate a world that honors the beauty that God has asked us to protect.
