Couch Advocacy 101 - How to Be an Environmental Advocate During a Pandemic

Join the Audubon Naturalist Society Advocacy team for a VIRTUAL evening to learn how to advocate effectively for the environment while we battle this global pandemic.

Couch Advocacy 101 will help you learn how to take action on environmental issues while being physically distant from others. The environmental movement has historically relied on in-person gatherings such as protests, marches, acts of civil disobedience, and lobbying elected officials. However, there are equally powerful actions you can take to make an impact while sitting on your couch.

You will learn how to:

  • Join coalitions and harness their power

  • Make sure your voice is heard by your local government

  • Communicate the importance of climate change mitigation while being sensitive to the suffering caused by the pandemic

  • Make your environmental advocacy inclusive

  • Maintain the momentum of environmental work that was started before the pandemic

Suggested donation for this Virtual Workshop: $5-15. If you are experiencing financial hardship and need a complementary ticket, contact ari.eisenstadt@anshome.org. All registered attendees will receive a Zoom link to join the event 24 hours before via email.
